The Bazookas

This catalog section virtually translates to the complete history of Bazooka issues. The comprehensive range and superlative condition of this collective assembly would certainly challenge, if not surpass, the finest such holding in the hobby. In broad terms, there are fourteen complete sets included in these lots; most of these were issued only as box-back panels, and they are preserved here in intact fashion. The collection is introduced by the venerated issue of 1959, then all, from 1960 forward, are offered as complete panels or, in several instances, as uncirculated boxes. Subjectively, these cards and panels have been cut responsibly - most borders are at, or just outside, the perimeter of the provided broken lines. Those that encroach the lines do so minimally, and acceptably, by most collector standards. It's the inherent nature of these elusive pieces that superficial creases occur, and these are noted in each set's detailing. It must be considered, however, that most creases in Bazooka issues are incurred on the panels' blank backs (a function of product boxes distended with bubble gum), and that most frequently, such are not apparent on the fronts. A very small number of these scarcities, in the hands of heartless professional grading services, would achieve disappointing results, but the great majority are essentially pristine. These are beautiful cards, start to finish, and the spirit of the sincere Topps/Bazooka hobbyist will be exhilarated by the items' state of preservation.
