1936-37 BF3 Pennants Collection These unusual, unbranded pieces have confounded - and enthralled - several generations of hobbyists! Regarded as extremely scarce souvenirs, the approximately 4"-long felt pennants of the "BF3" genre feature appliquéd designs to represent various teams, schools or individual ballplayers. In startling contrast to the small groups of these items that are typically found in the industry, this catalog section consists of ten lots that collectively hold more than four hundred of the elusive pieces; among the lots' content are such key entries as Ruth, Gehrig, Greenberg, Foxx, Dean, and virtually all of the 1930s' biggest stars. A wide cross-section of the issue's distinctive "type" configurations is present, and the array combines to form one of the finest and largest collections of these mementos that's ever emerged into the hobby. Of additional importance, these lots contain BF3's that are much nicer than usually seen, and which uphold generally EX condition or finer (a few lesser). A phenomenally comprehensive group! |
