19th Centruy Tobacco Premium Albums Presented in this section is an exciting gallery of premium souvenir albums, the majority of which were issued by tobacco companies during the 1880s. These colorful, lithographed volumes were designed to represent a consummate reward for the loyal tobacco consumer who, in many cases, had already become entranced by, and perhaps had completed, a particular insert card set. The albums were available upon remittance of a specified number of coupons, so the interests of both seller and collector were well served by the creation of these beautiful books. This assembly features stand-alone topics in addition to albums that complement the card productions of Allen & Ginter, Duke, and others. The books’ preservation across the board is much nicer than is usually seen, and the quantity of albums presented - as well as their astounding range of subject matter - makes for an almost unprecedented offering of these showpiece collectibles! |
