Breaking a 517-card near set of 1909-11 T206 White Border insert cards. The 1909-11 T206 White Border tobacco insert series is undoubtedly the most immediately recognizable and widely collected issue in our industry. Enthusiasts cherish their other treasures, ranging from 19th Century artifacts to present-day mementos, but passion for card collecting always seems to revolve, however subtly, around this adored production. T206's account for many hobbyists' first experience with pose variations, brand distinctions, condition assessments and checklist building. Even though we can't remember pursuing these at the time they were issued, they've given us abundant hobby memories. Presented is a journey through time, from more than one perspective, in the form of 517 different cards (missing the "Big Four", and three of the Cobb examples) from the T206 issue, seen in this impressive near set. Included in this assembly are the great names of Cobb, Johnson, Young, Lajoie and a significant number of their contemporaries. All of those notable figures combine to allow our indulgent remembrances of the pleasure and satisfaction that inspires us to collect.
